Accident

Accident, originally uploaded by Ontario Wanderer.

I was about a half km away so I just heard several large booms but as I understand it from chatting with the drivers and looking this is what happened:
The Hydro people were changing power from one side of the road to the other. The truck on the left had a man in the bucket. The man in the truck tipped on the right had just completed some work on the right side of the road and was backing onto the highway and then the logging truck, with trailer, came over the hill. The logging truck attempted to miss both trucks but there was not enough room to get by and he hit both. The truck that was backing onto the road was flipped over. The truck with the man in the bucket was bounced about. The logging truck stayed on its wheels but caught fire almost immediately. Both truck drivers got out of their vehicles and walked away from them. The man in the bucket was helped down via ladder. Only one electrical wire snapped and it did no damage. Of the three involved, the man in the bucket was the most shaken but all three had to be convinced to go to the ambulance to be checked over. I am sure all will be very sore tomorrow but all were still on their feet. Amazing luck - both bad and good.

A couple more photos on the Flickr site . . . .
